The Integrated Behavioral Health Program offers clinic-based outpatient mental health treatment, medication support, case management, and outreach services for children, adolescent and adult residents of San Francisco. Clinical services may also be provided at sites other than the mental health facility (e.g., schools), when necessary.

BHP-famHugOutpatient services are provided for severely mentally ill adults who would otherwise need higher levels of care, as well as for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse problems. Targeted services for adolescents age 14 through 18, and for transitional-aged youth age 18 through 24 are also available. Services of the Integrated Behavioral Health Program are designed to promote comprehensive mental health care, and are provided by trained clinical staff that draws upon their experiences in providing culturally sensitive services to all clients.

What to Expect:

Intake appointments can be arranged during the Clinic's regular hours of operation. Early morning or evening services are available by appointment as needed. Clinicians prioritize the admissions process in an effort to schedule client intake interviews in a timely manner. Screening (including residence, insurance, and reason for appointment) will be conducted during the intake process to determine the client’s eligibility and to make appropriate treatment decisions. If the level of care required is more immediate, the clinician will assist in identifying and securing other service options or referrals for clients. After the preliminary admissions procedure, the client and clinician will begin the initial therapy session. A plan of treatment will be developed collaboratively between the client and clinician during this phase of service.
